Product recalled due to risk of listeria.
Kellogg Co. is recalling about 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles because the product could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a statement on the Kellogg website said.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause fever, muscle aches, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. It is sometimes fatal in young children, the frail and elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
Kellogg discovered the potential contamination after routine testing. The recall is being issued as a precaution. To date, no illnesses have been reported. No other Eggo products are affected by the recall.
If you have purchased a recalled product from the Co-op, please return it for a refund.
