Looking Out for One Another at the Holidays

A Letter from the Co-op General Manager

To Our Community,

What a year it has been. In spite of the pandemic, the holiday season is here. Usually a time of festive sharing with friends and family, we will all be celebrating differently this year. All of us will make the best of a tough situation. What is almost certain to be true is our stores will be increasingly busy and hectic in the weeks ahead.

As we go about our lives, I would like to remind all of us to remain vigilant to the needs of others. Holidays are not always a time of joy and celebration for everyone, and a bit of extra patience and support can go a long way. Also, with increased foot traffic in the stores, our social-distancing protocols and mask policies will become even more important. Therefore I would like to remind all of our shoppers about our mask policy, which can be summed up in six words:

No mask, no entry, no exceptions.

For the most part, our members and shoppers have been very conscientious about our mask policy and social-distancing protocols, so today I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your support. Your continued diligence during the busy holiday season will be both welcome and appreciated.

In addition, I have decided rather than trying my luck at bagging, I, and others from the leadership team, will be present in all our stores this holiday season, greeting customers at the door, thanking them for their business and for following our social distancing policies, which has helped to keep everyone safe, and finally, if necessary, reinforcing No mask, No Entry, No Exceptions.

We are there to serve everyone, including our colleagues as well as our members and shoppers.

So please do not hesitate to reach out to any one of us if you have a question or need assistance. That is what we are here for.

Paul Guidone

Paul Guidone, CFA, spent the better part of four decades in the investment management business here and abroad. He held positions ranging from analyst through Deputy Chairman and Group CEO, at organizations such as Citigroup (US) and The HSBC Group (London and Hong Kong). He joined the Co-op in 2016 as the CFO and in 2018 became Strategic Advisor to the General Manager.
