Two members of the Co-op’s Board of Directors have resigned their positions. On August 26, 2020, the board’s president, Allene Swienckowski, announced her resignation from the presidency and, also, from the board, which she joined in May, 2019. Allene brought extensive financial and managerial experience to the board, as well as a strong dedication to helping people work together. Her congenial nature and heartfelt concern for the welfare of others made her a pleasure to work with. We wish her well with the many other community endeavors to which she dedicates her time and energy.
On August 28, board member Victoria Fullerton submitted her resignation to the board, citing personal reasons. Victoria had been on the board for five years and was an active participant in bringing about significant change to various Co-op policies and practices. She was serving as the chairperson of the board’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the time of her resignation. We respect her decision to leave, but we regret her need to do so.
Board Vice-President Jessica Saturley-Hall is currently serving as Acting President. The board will elect a new president at its next board meeting and will address filling the two vacant seats.
