Almark Foods, a Georgia-based, employee-owned egg producer, has expanded a voluntary recall to include all hard-boiled eggs manufactured at the company’s Gainesville, Georgia, production facility because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the frail or elderly, or those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
