Dear Co-op Community,
Co-op General Manager Paul Guidone has announced his plans to retire on April 29th, 2022.
Paul started at the Co-op as Chief Financial Officer in 2016, and later served as Strategic Advisor to former General Manager Ed Fox. Paul began as Interim General Manager and then General Manager at the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic. His strong, innovative leadership has guided the Co-op through some enormous challenges over the past two years.
At all times, he has endeavored to put employees first, to keep shoppers safe, and to ensure dependable community access to the goods and services it needs. Under his management, the Co-op enjoys financial stability, even as it renovates the Lebanon store, increases wages, and works toward exciting energy goals. He is leaving the Co-op better than he found it and on solid footing, setting the stage for the success of our next General Manager.
The Board will begin the search for Paul’s replacement immediately through the formation of a Search Committee. Our intention is to identify a new General Manager in a timely fashion to allow for ample overlap and coordination between Paul and the incoming manager.
The Board looks forward to working with the Co-op’s members, employees, vendors, and shoppers as we continue to steward the Co-op toward a successful, cooperative, and equitable future.
We wish Paul all the best for his retirement and thank him for his service to our cooperative and our community.
President, HCCS Board of Directors
